Playgrounds

Take the little ones to frolic at our area's playgrounds. In Taunton, visit Hopewell Park on Hopewell Street (off Broadway) or Whittenton Playground at the end of Richard Street (off Bay Street). In Dighton, visit the Dighton Community Playground on Route 138, next to Town Hall. Children five and under can also visit the Camp Bucky play area located in the food court of the Silver City Galleria.

Liberty and Union Weekend

An annual event held the third weekend in October. Commemorating Taunton's historic flag raising against the British in 1774. Living history encampments, music, crafts.

Lighting of the Green

An ongoing tradition as part of the Christmas City Weekend in the City of Taunton, the lighting of the Green is one of the biggest events of the year, taking place on the first Friday in December.

Annual Christmas Parade

This event brings out young and old to see the floats, hear the marching bands and give Santa their wish list as he rides by. Held on the Sunday following the "Lights On."
